Teeth Whitening in Little Rock, AR

A brighter smile, the safe way.

Years of coffee, tea, wine, and just plain living can dim your smile. Professional whitening is a quick, careful way to get the brightness back — done with your enamel in mind, by a dentist who knows your teeth.

How professional whitening works

Professional whitening uses a stronger, carefully controlled whitening agent than what you’ll find over the counter — and a dentist who can tell you whether your teeth and gums are a good candidate before you start. The result is usually brighter, more even, and longer-lasting than drugstore options.

We’ll talk through your options at your visit. Some people do well with a single in-office session; others prefer take-home trays they can use at their own pace. We’ll recommend what fits your teeth and your lifestyle.

What whitening can and cannot change

Whitening can lighten many stains within natural enamel, including discoloration associated with food, beverages, tobacco, and aging. The response varies with the type and depth of the stain, so the same product does not produce the same result for every person.

Crowns, veneers, bridges, and tooth-colored fillings do not whiten. If those restorations are visible when you smile, we will discuss how a color change in the surrounding teeth could affect the overall match. Whitening also does not change tooth shape, position, chips, or gaps.

Why an examination comes first

Sensitivity, cavities, gum irritation, cracks, exposed roots, and existing restorations can influence which approach is appropriate. We check for those factors before recommending treatment and adjust the plan when sensitivity is a concern.

If whitening cannot address what you want to change, we can explain whether bonding, veneers, restorative care, or simply leaving the area alone makes more sense. The goal is a result that fits your smile without pushing you toward more treatment than you need.

Maintaining your result

Whitening is not permanent because natural teeth can gradually pick up new stains. Coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco, and other habits affect how quickly that happens. Good home care, professional cleanings, and occasional touch-ups when appropriate can help maintain the result.

We will give you instructions for the product you use, including how much to apply, how long to wear it, and what to do if sensitivity develops.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work on my teeth?

Professional whitening works well on most natural tooth staining. It doesn’t change the color of crowns, veneers, or fillings, so if you have those in your smile line, we’ll talk through what to expect. The best way to know is a quick look in person.

Is it safe for my enamel?

Done correctly and at the right strength, professional whitening is considered safe for your enamel. We’ll check that your teeth and gums are healthy first and adjust the approach if you have sensitive teeth.

Will my teeth be sensitive afterward?

Some people feel mild, short-term sensitivity for a day or two after whitening. We’ll tell you how to minimize it and what to do if it shows up.

How long do the results last?

It depends on your habits — coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco all dim results faster. With reasonable care and the occasional touch-up, the brightness can last quite a while.
