A typical preventive visit includes a professional cleaning, an exam by your dentist, and X-rays when they’re due. We remove the plaque and tartar your toothbrush can’t reach, look for any early signs of trouble, and talk through anything we see — clearly, and without scare tactics.
For most adults and kids, we recommend a visit every six months. If you’ve had gum issues in the past or are at higher risk for cavities, we may suggest seeing you more often. We’ll always tell you what we think and why.
Every six months works for most people, but it varies. We’ll recommend what makes sense based on your teeth, your gums, and your history.
For most people, a routine cleaning is comfortable — maybe a little pressure or vibration, but not painful. If your gums are sensitive or it’s been a while, let us know and we’ll take it slow.
