Cosmetic dentistry covers the treatments that improve how your teeth look — their color, shape, size, and how evenly they line up. Some of it is simple, like smoothing a chipped edge or closing a small gap. Some of it is more involved, like veneers that reshape several teeth at once for a fuller, more even smile.
Veneers are thin, custom-made covers bonded to the front of your teeth. They’re a popular way to address stains that won’t whiten, chips, small gaps, or teeth that look worn or uneven. The goal is never a fake, too perfect look — it’s a smile that fits your face and feels like yours.
Different concerns call for different tools. Whitening changes the color of natural teeth but does not reshape them. Composite bonding can repair or reshape a limited area directly on the tooth. Veneers cover the front surface and may be considered when several changes in color, shape, proportion, or symmetry need to be planned together.
Sometimes the best plan combines treatments, and sometimes the most appropriate answer is to leave a tooth alone. We compare what each option can realistically change, how much tooth preparation it may require, how it should be maintained, and what alternatives deserve consideration.
Before cosmetic treatment, we evaluate the teeth, gums, bite, and existing restorations. Active decay, gum inflammation, significant grinding, or a bite problem may need attention before veneers or bonding can be planned predictably.
The consultation is also where we learn what looks natural to you. Photos, shade discussions, and careful planning help us understand your priorities before any irreversible treatment begins.
With good care, veneers can last many years. How long depends on the details — your bite, your habits, and how you care for them day to day. We’ll walk you through what helps them last and what to avoid, and we’ll keep an eye on them at your regular visits.
They don’t have to — and we work hard to make sure they don’t. We match the shape and color to your face and your other teeth, so the result looks natural. The goal is a smile that still looks like you.
Most cosmetic work is comfortable, and we’ll make sure you’re at ease the whole way through. If a treatment needs numbing, we’ll take care of that. Tell us if you’re nervous — we’re used to it and we’ll go at your pace.
It depends on what you’re having done — a single bonded tooth and a full set of veneers are very different. We’ll talk through pricing and financing options at your consultation so you can decide what’s right for you.
With a consultation. Come in, tell us what you’d like to change, and we’ll give you an honest sense of your options — no pressure to commit to anything.
